Department of Social Work

Our department guarantees the teaching of educational programmes of Social Policy and Social Work and Management in Social Work. The programme’s profile subjects focus on acquiring theoretical knowledge in the field of psychology, pedagogy, sociology, law, social politics, and methodology of social work, as well as on acquiring practical skills using work with individuals, groups, and communities. The study programme also includes professional experience of students. Requalification courses are provided in cooperation with the Labour Office in Ústí nad Labem.

Members of the Department and Ph.D. students take part in scientific and research activity in the field of social work in education, fundraising, and other competencies of social workers and social exclusion.
