Department of Foreign Languages

Our Department provides language education for all study programs and fields. Professional language courses (English, German) develop communication competencies within the respective field of study. 

We offer several facultative and voluntary courses to practice productive language skills within professional contexts. As part of specialised courses, we prepare the students for international language exams, as a result of which the students may obtain Cambridge Exams and Sprachdiplom certificates. Moreover, our voluntary courses and lifelong learning courses enable the students to pursue other languages – Spanish, French, Russian, and/or Italian.

We organise short-/ and long-term intensive preparatory courses within lifelong learning programs. We provide expert translations for other parts of the faculty, as well as other institutions. We pursue research in the area of methodology and didactics of foreign languages education in tertiary education.
