General information

The main mission of the 4-year specialized study is to educate our students to be experts and analysts who will have the knowledge and competencies for critical analysis of the functioning of economic policy, economic regulation tools and consumer protection. We focus on current societal issues that have implications for public policy making.

The main basis of the programme is the knowledge base of behavioural economics and psychology. The study develops opportunities to interact in a research team, present and defend the results of one’s own scientific work. Students have the opportunity to use a modern stationary and mobile behavioural laboratory and the SMART Public Administration Laboratory equipped with public funds from the OPIE project CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_017/0002689. The study is conducted in Czech and English. 

Profile and application of the graduate

Graduates have detailed knowledge of contemporary economic theories, economic policy and regulation. They are able to use advanced statistical and econometric methods and methods of experimental economics. They apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the design of economic policy strategies and instruments. They are equipped with experience in fundraising and management of scientific projects. The study includes an internship abroad. Graduates are prepared for working in research-oriented institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad. In the professional field, they will find employment in national and supranational regulatory bodies, in politics and executive positions in the non-profit sector and public administration.
